Term 4, Week 9, 2014
It is 'countdown' time, just a few days to go and everyone will begin a well-deserved summer break. The 'big day out' and Teddy bears picnic have been enjoyed, and the children visited their new classes for2015. Tomorrow is our final assembly for the year, where we celebrate success in both academic and sporting areas. Please visit our 'learning experiences' section of this website to see photos of our recent experiences.
With retiring this year, this will be my last 'Weebly' entry. It has been a privilege to spend the last 13 years at Edgecumbe Primary, joining your amazing children on their first school learning journey, and working with such supportive Whanau and staff. I shall miss you all, but know Whaea Lesa will continue, and extend the fun and learning in Room 11. I look forward to meeting you in Edgecumbe and the wider community, and thank you for your never-ending aroha.
Term 4, Week 6
I am sorry for the gap in adding more to our Weebly page. We seem to be having problems using this site at present. We haven't had any problem learning and celebrating though. What an exciting few weeks. Firstly our Athletics competitions, followed by an amazing Centennial experience. Every minute from the class visits on Friday, the disco and fireworks evening, meet and greet, photos, official speeches and cake cutting, was enjoyable and memorable. It certainly demonstrated that Edgecumbe has been a special place for a long time! The children are now counting down the days until our 'Big day out' with Room 7 at Julians Berry Farm and Whakatane Heads. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in their permission forms. Term 3, Week 9
What a busy, and exciting time we have had. Jock is pictured at our special Duffy assembly, proudly carrying our class selection back share. Our sponsors, Mainfreight Air and Ocean were present to support Duffy role model Rina Patel, an actor, film maker and writer. She shared skills and techniques for success.
There is only one more week of Term 3 remaining. I always feel a little sad as a Term ends because the learning is at a peak, and the children know they are being successful. Thank you for continuing to encourage them to keep reading, writing and doing practical Maths at home to retain this progress.

Let the party begin!
We are ready for our visit from our wonderful Kindergarten neighbours -a great start for introducing our Centenary Inquiry topic 'Where are we from? -Edgecumbe 1914 -2014'.
It has been an exciting day. You would have been so proud of our students who couldn't have been nicer hosts and hostesses to our visitors. Thank you to Kylie, her staff and families who made this morning visit possible, and Mr Brebner, Mrs Carter and our Edgecumbe team who assisted in so many ways.

Term 3, Week 7
Welcome to Spring. It seems not only the weather is fresh and exciting, but also our learning progress. Last week we celebrated our two 6 year olds reaching the National standard in Literacy -the result of a great deal of their hard work and Whanau support. Well done Samuel and Jamie. It is the time of the year when our older pupils demonstrate how they can read and write independently and I hear throughout the day -'I can read this' and 'Can I read this to the class' etc. This is one of the best conversations a teacher can hear!
This week we begin our new Inquiry topic 'Edgecumbe, how was it, 1914 -2014?' We will learn and share about our past, culminating in our Centenary celebrations. We hope you will register and join us on November 7th and 8th. If you have any questions please pop in and see Jenny at the school office.
We look forward to welcoming Edgecumbe Kindergarten to join our learning programme on Wednesday. We have been able to use our new Wireless connections to check the weather forecast throughout the day, and so far it looks very promising. It will be a special time.

This text should all be in rainbow colours! In the photo you can see Mrs Carter with one of her team helping to make Room 10 magical for our Rr celebration with the children from Edgecumbe Kindergarten. A special 'thank you' Bing. Sadly the weather meant we will now be holding this on Wednesday 3rd September -12 more sleeps now. We made up for our disappointment by eating our Rainbow cake -created totally by Room 11, and visiting the Life Education caravan. Thank you for your support at home, the children are giving me daily excitement as they think, learn and grow In confidence and skill.

Term 3, Week 3.
We are having an exciting and busy time. As a school we have been celebrating the success of our Tai Mitchell competitors -all winning awards and wowing us with their Haka, confidence and public speaking strengths. Last Wednesday we also hosted hockey teams from surrounding schools and there were lots of 'we won all our games' comments. Way to go.
As a class we are busy preparing for 'Rr' day when Edgecumbe Kindergarten visit us on 20th August. There is lots of brainstorming of ideas, wonderful rainbow art and food anticipation! Your child may like to wear something red on the day to celebrate too.

Welcome to a new term -scary that half a school year has already gone, but exciting when you look back over the last 6 months and see the new thinking and learning that has taken place. This week it has been v for vegetables. Here you can see Jayden sharing the names of those he recognises. Jayden named over 10, exceptional knowledge when you consider he was just visiting our class for the morning. Jayden helps his Nana and Granddad in their amazing garden which shares its produce among many Edgecumbe families. Keep an eye out as you walk past 6 Puriri Crescent -there is even a 'help yourself' table. What better 'I Care' example could you have than that!
Matua Les is leading a Social Sciences study on 'Ko Wai Koe?' The pupils will be discussing who they are and why they are special. This will lead into a visit from Harold the giraffe from the Life Education trust in weeks 5 and 6.

Term 2, Week 9
Just one more sleep until the Term 2 holidays. Today we enjoyed looking at our Learning Logs and sharing our progress with our classmates. I love hearing these younger learners discussing how they are doing -comments such as 'I am really good at.....', 'look at how many words I can write' and 'I am going to need to learn my numbers to 20 now'. You will see their 'deep thinking' as you look at their graphic organiser reflecting on their Term 2 learning.
Today was one of those 'magical' days which will always be remembered. We welcomed the Tai Mitchell team on their way to compete in the tournament in Rotorua. Four of our boys are part of this group of elite sportsmen and they certainly demonstrated why they were chosen. Our middle and senior pupils responded to the challenge by returning their Haka -it was breath taking, and certainly made us feel proud of our special 'I Care' school.

Term 2, Week 8
This week we celebrate another leader in Education. This is Mike Scadden, ex Principal of Te Puna Primary School and more recently, a full time conference facilitator both here and overseas. Through a life time of research and practice Mike shares how we can ensure success for each child by understanding their special abilities and learning styles-brain compatible learning. Our Principal, Tristan Brebner, has ensured that we are part of this journey and the confidence, enthusiasm and growth which you will witness at our school is very much a reflection of its success. Mike was part of a group of Principals who spent time with us last week, and is pictured in Room 11.
We have just one more week of Term 2 remaining. If you have any library books or readers at home we would love them back at any time. Have a safe, fun and learning holiday.

Week 7
Last week we welcomed Matua Les to Room 11 and our Edgecumbe Primary school family. He is one of the many, many teaching students from Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi that I have had the pleasure to share, support and learn from. Today I sadly write that Whaea Diane Wana, Education lecturer, pictured to the right with Stacey just a few weeks ago, has passed away. She was an advocate for success for all and her contribution to education will continue to live on in all the lives she has touched. I will miss her phone calls, class visits and wisdom. Diane, 'Tino pai to mahi!' |
Meet Matua Les. He is shown here in action taking a Maths group. We are delighted to welcome him to Room 11 where he is already sharing his skills, knowledge and aroha. Luckily we have 7 more weeks of his company as he consolidates his 3 years of University study before being the Teacher of some lucky children in the Eastern Bay.
It has been a wet week and we have been so appreciative of having an activity classroom next door where we can be a little louder and more boisterous during break times. Thank you to all the families who have continued with the 'attending school every day unless sick' expectation. It certainly assists learning success. |
Term 2, Week 4/5
Let the games begin! Mr Brebner joining three of our pupils to open the 2014 Edgecumbe Primary Cross Country races. (You may just see our Arliyah -doing her first public speech -wonderfully!) We are so proud of her, and all of Room 11 pupils for courage, perseverance and success. They all completed the field and now know that they can so anything when they try. A great life skill. Next week Les Umuhuri joins us to share his final practicum in Room 11. He is a third year teaching student and we look forward to sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm. |
Term 2, Week 3
Another wonderful learning week! Our small class of enthusiastic pupils constantly sharing our 'I Care' values equates to a happy environment to teach and share. Thank you for supporting our high attendance expectations so that new discoveries are not forgotten. On the left you will see John, Kacey and Stevie demonstrating their skills at ordering numbers to 20. This was an independent practise activity and you can see their focus. Well done. |
Term 2, Week 2
Last Saturday I was privileged to join Whaea Jeanette and Whaea Lesa at a workshop organised by the school library association. We live and learn in an exciting world and the speakers demonstrated how modern technology, and books, are essential tools for both now and the future. This week there has been major growth in all curriculum areas. Many pupils have moved into new instructional groups as they have achieved previous goals. Please celebrate with them. On Friday the Duffy Theatre visits our school. Each year they present an exciting show encouraging and valuing reading. You are welcome to join us in the multi-purpose room at 1.30pm. |
Term 2, Week 1
A new term and new adventures. You will see a quick snapshot of our Room 11 pupils -all at school and all ready to continue their learning. This week we have been reviewing our learning and behaviour expectations. We are truly an 'I Care' class in every way. It is such a pleasure to be able to celebrate the many ways these clever 5 year olds share this - I know you are encouraging this at home too. Next week we begin a new science topic called 'What stands up?'. We will be examining how people develop technologies using the structural principles that occur in living things. Be prepared for words such as skeleton, framework, foundations...... Have a wonderful Mother's Day Mums and Nans! |
Term 1, Week 12
This photo reflects a moment of magic -one which I am so fortunate to experience many times a day in Room 11. We had been watching our class chrysalis emerge into a butterfly, and the next day Samuel found a monarch outside on our hebe bush. Was it ours? Sadly this is the last week for Whaea Stacie. She has contributed hugely to both Room 11 and our wider school. Her lunchtimes have been spent teaching a special song she has written especially for us. This will be a lasting legacy. Thank you Stacie -we know you will be an awesome, inspiring teacher. This is our last week for the term, school resumes on Monday 5th May. Have a relaxing, fun filled and safe holiday. If it is possible to snatch a few moments each day to review Homethink activities your children will benefit hugely. Thank you all for another wonderful 'learning together' term. |
Term 1, Week 10
Look at our amazing forest of cabbage trees, and our talented artists. We loved them so much we made one for school and one to take home. I hope you have a prominent place to display yours -we can check the six step success criteria for every pupil! It has been a busy week with growth in all of our learning levels. We have our first pupil on Humpty Dumpty 4 in basic word recognition, and there is lots of competition. We hope to have a group beginning Yellow level by Term 2 -just two weeks now until the holidays. Tuesday, the 15th April, is our 'Fun 4 U' sports day held near the skate park. There will be a wonderful selection of games for the children to try, including gold, cricket etc. More information next week. |
Our 'big morning out" at Edgecumbe Kindergarten. Thank you to Mrs Reid for the photos.
Term 1, Weeks 8 and 9
Just three more weeks of Term 1 to go. We are at that fantastic point in learning where all the pupils' hard work ensures success. We have children on Humpty Dumpty 2 and 3 -the competition is fierce! (I have even heard that one child goes to bed repeating these basic words!) It pays dividends -yesterday when I introduced the new Reading texts I briefly wondered I had made a mistake and given out seen books -but no -just clever children using their new learning. We have also started a new art project depicting our Ti Kouka (cabbage tree) outside Room 11. The success criteria include observing, following a six stage art process, and completing our work independently -with our own style! The work will be wonderful! Last Sunday was 'Top School' at Awakeri. I am sure you would have been as proud of our two teams as I was -what wonderful skills, perseverance, endurance and 'I Care' they all displayed. Tomorrow we visit Edgecumbe Kindergarten -just 'one more sleep'. The anticipation is huge -we know we will have an enjoyable learning time at Edgecumbe's own top quality pre-school. |
Term 1, Week 7.
What an exciting time we have had. Firstly the gala last Friday night -amazing parents, wonderful pupils, and an incredible community. Even getting 'dunked' by buckets of cold water was fun -luckily no photos available -and the 'I Care' atmosphere made raising $15,000 towards a school van almost secondary! Thank you. Secondly, this week we welcome Whaea Stacie Tumoana. Stacie is a Second Year teaching student from Awanuiarangi University. She already has entranced us with her smiles and fantastic teaching skills. Stacie will be with us until the end of the Term. Two dates to remember. Swimming display this Friday at 1.15pm. Visit to Edgecumbe Kindergarten on Wednesday, 26th March. |
Term 1, Week 6.
Two more sleeps until our Gala day. I am looking forward to meeting you all there, and I shall also come prepared for a good soaking during the 'throw the water at the teacher' stall!! It will all be great fun. Today we were learning about the letter 'd'. You can see Mokai and Dominic working with Mrs Carter to make domino biscuits. They both had fun and the biscuits tasted delicious. Mokai did especially love the little silver balls we used to make the dots! |
Term 1, Week 5.
What an exciting week! Three more beautiful New Entrants and Mackenzie, on the left, making her first school visit. Just 3 to go, then we will enjoy having you as a Room 11 class member too. There are only 8 more sleeps until our GALA day and our anticipation for a wonderful sharing, and fund raising event is rising. Thank you for all of your contributions, both now and still to come. Whaea Lesa, Niki and I are in awe of each pupil's swimming progress. It is a positive example of Room 11s 'think, try, do your best work' Thank you for ensuring the pupils are able to swim every day. |
Term 1, Week 4.
We are just finishing an exciting learning week. Ann and Peter from the Ero advisory team have been visiting, and checking our 'I Care' learning environment. It has been a thorough investigation, involving children, whanau, staff and our Board of Trustee members. You will be delighted to know that they appeared as happy with our amazing children's progress as we are, and are confident that the systems we continue to put in place to give children extra support are making a difference. Thank you so much for all you assistance. |
Learning is really underway in all areas. The class is 'humming'.
This Term we are focussing on 'What makes ME a great learner?'. If you get a chance, ask your child about their learning each day, how did they know this, and what their next learning steps are. Then CELEBRATE! Samuel and Dominic are showing us their healthy lunches. They know that food, exercise, drinking water and getting lots of sleep are very important to success. |
Term 1, Weeks 1-3
We are back! I hope your children have had as much fun as I have had today.
We extend a special welcome to Arliyah and Te Toki.
Sparkling eyes, I Care behaviour and ready to continue learning.
Thank you!

2014
17 th January
A new year, new friends, new adventures, new challenges, and shared problem solving and successes.
Thank you once again for trusting me to be part of your Whanau, and sharing your pupil's learning experiences. Holidays provide many opportunities to reflect on achievements and challenges. Both teachers and pupils use the Inquiry process to approach focus areas -what are my needs, what can I do to solve this/learn more, who can help me, and what progress have I made? Edgecumbe Primary's 'I Care' thinking and learning values provide a wonderful foundation for success. Life is an exciting journey, and children the most precious part of it.
Looking forward to meeting you all again on Tuesday, 28th January. Swimming will take place every day, so please include swimming gear, along with book bags and healthy lunches. Remember our 'open door' policy - you will find one of us ready to answer any queries at any time.

December, 2013
We are now counting the days until Christmas, and having lots of fun sharing the special events that occur at this time. Yesterday Oliver started his holidays as he flies to Zimbabwe with his family. We wish him well as he begins his long journey and exciting new experiences. Today the children took home a letter sharing their new class for 2014, and a stationary list detailing the materials they will be using. Hopefully this will assist in budgeting for those expensive first months of the new year.
As well as being exciting, this is also a time of change, as pupils wonder about their new learning journeys. We know that this will continue to be a fun and successful one, as we all work together to maintain our 'I Care' values. Have a wonderful break -already I am looking forward to 28th January when school begins again. I know I shall also see many of you over the holidays, and shall look forward to catching up on your news.

Our Big Day Out
It is now 4pm and a lot of tired children will be sharing their adventures. I would like to thank all of you for making it possible for the children to experience a learning journey outside the classroom by returning all those necessary forms and contributing to the costs. To those of you who were able to join us, thank you for your help, and as always, wonderful assistance to keep our children safe. There will memories shared for many years, plus new learning which will grow as understandings further develop. Their behaviour was amazing - it was such a delight to have very positive comments shared by those leading and sharing at Kiwi 360. They were truly 'I Care'.

What a busy and exciting time. Today was our Teddy bears picnic, and we spent the morning cooking biscuits to share in the Big Woods.
Tomorrow, Thursday is our 'Teacher Book Share' where each teacher travels to another class to share their favourite books, the books they are currently reading, and a special one to share. This fun activity leads into our special assembly next Tuesday morning when Anneke is visiting us from Whakatane library to introduce the summer reading programme. (Be prepared for some surprises -I have heard a whisper that there might be some dressing up going on!)
Just two more sleeps until our BIG DAY OUT experience to Te Puke. We know we have wonderful children and Whanau coming, and now the weather looks as though it is going to be amazing too. I will look forward to reporting back on it next week.

Term 4, Weeks 4 and 5.
We are buzzing with all the special events and learning opportunities we have been experiencing, with many more to come!
ATHLETICS
Thank you all for supporting our wonderful children on Friday afternoon. So many of you were able to change other commitments at short notice to attend, and cheer everyone on to do their best. Your demonstration of our school 'I Care' values made every child feel special, regardless of how difficult they found some of the events. Thank you!
OUR BIG DAY OUT
One week to go. Excitement grows and organisation finalises. Thank you so much for getting your payment and forms back to class. There are still places for adults available if you are now able to join us. The cost is the same as for children -$20. Any questions or problems, just ask.
BUDDY TEDDY BEARS PICNIC
This will be held next Wednesday as we share a 'thank you' event with our special Reading buddies in Room 6. We would love all pupils to bring some sort of Teddy or soft toy to share party snacks together. The pupils will eat their 'normal' lunch later.

Term 4, Week 3.
This week we have been making the most of the sunshine, practising our ATHLETIC skills ready for our big day next Wednesday. Hopefully you will be able to join us at school. Junior events begin at 9.30 am and continue to 11.00 am, when the Senior school will demonstrate their skills. The children's growth has been amazing, with hesitant first jumps becoming full speed running leaps. Like swimming, our daily practise, plus sheer pupil determination, ensure success.
Thank you for returning the permission slips for our BIG DAY OUT, on Friday the 22nd November. We are crossing the days off the calendar now, just 21 sleeps to go! For those who haven't had a chance to pay their $20 yet, money is welcome at any time - a receipt will be issued.

Term 4, Week 2.
Another week of learning over-the end of term is approaching too quickly. We have many things to share and celebrate, and these will continue right to the last day of Term 4.
We look forward to Mr Brebner's return this coming Tuesday, after he had to extend his break another week due to being ill. A special thank you to Ms Beattie who did an amazing job in his place, but I'm sure will be thankful to return to 'normal' again.
You will see a photo taken randomly of a typical Room 11 lunch box. It contains nutritional food which is perfect for an active five year old. Thank you everyone for putting your time and family finances into such healthy eating practices. (Just a thought though, sometimes there is so much food that the children can feel overwhelmed when trying to eat it all before playing -just one or two choices for brain break, and sandwiches and maybe a yoghurt, is plenty for lunch.) The pupils always feel so proud when they can quickly enjoy, and finish, everything in their lunch box.

Term 4, Week 1
We are underway, enjoying our two delightful new pupils and settling back into our class programme. Thank you Whanau for obviously continuing the sharing and learning throughout the holidays, there has been no noticeable drop in progress. This means that everyone will continue to be a 'high flyer' in the weeks ahead.
We look forward to having our Principal, Mr Brebner, back next week after a term sabbatical, researching and evaluating our unique brain based teaching methods. We look forward to hearing the results of his studies, and continuing this learning journey more effectively.
Thank you for your quick response to our first letter about our 'Big Day Out'. The excitement is already growing.
We begin our Firewise study next week, and will send materials, including a C.D., which will assist your discussions at home. I hope you find it an informative, effective unit too.

Term 4, here we come!
Just 2 more sleeps and Term 4 begins, and I am really excited about the great term we are going to share together. Last Monday the Junior Teachers went exploring. We visited the venues which we had decided on for our 2013 'Junior Big Day Out' and now can't wait to have you all join us on Friday, 22nd November.
Details will be sent home in Week One, but the photos may give you a clue!
We start Term 4 by reviewing our 'I Care' learning and behaviour expectations, as we welcome new pupils to our class.
In Week 2, our Inquiry topic on Fire Safety begins, with the assistance of the New Zealand Fire Department. We shall follow a carefully structured fire safety programme, helping to prevent fire emergencies and ensuring we keep safe if one occurs.
Welcome back to the new term.
Term 3, Week 9
The last week of Term 3! Exciting but sad. Firstly we 'lose' 5 of our pupils who are joining Ms Beattie in Room 8, and will sincerely miss them.
We know that these children will continue to succeed in their new learning environment, and those amazing children remaining in Room 11 will 'streak' ahead with the increased opportunities to interact and show their many strengths. Secondly, now Term 3 is finished, there are only nine school weeks in Term 4 before the school year is ended -and we know those will pass quickly.
Enjoy your holidays together. Remember it is usually the 'simple' experiences that build memories -picnics by the river, cooking something with Mum, Dad or Nan, or making a 'tent' by putting a sheet over the table. I know you will continue to share the pupils Homethink books and build language -two weeks of practise will maintain and accelerate their learning. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Term 3, Week 8
I am so glad we have a class of bright, enthusiastic, energetic pupils. There are so many exciting opportunities each week to strengthen and extend our learning so we all need to be fit! This week we have had a visit from Doris, Michelle and Helen -our three Dental therapists who are working in their high tech van under the shelter area. We walked back with them and each had a turn to explore the inside the van. Now we are all very enthusiastic to go and get our teeth counted too.
Today we experienced Sky Lab -a big silver dome which we crawled into and observed the night sky. You would have been so proud of your pupils who handled this like veterans. You will see the rebus story in their Homethink book sharing our adventure.
Next week is our last week of Term 3. If you have any school readers or Library books at home, we always appreciate them at any time -even if a few may have accumulated!

Term 3. Week 7
Term 3, Week 6
It is the middle of Week 6, and I have that 'I'm so lucky to be a Teacher' feeling. Our new pupils who joined us this term are already sharing their learning strengths, and we are all practising our 'I Care' values. New Entrants are an interesting and exciting level, forever changing as we assimilate new pupils into school life, joining together and then stepping forward once more as a group to achieve our goals.
This week we have welcomed Whaea Hine, a Year 2 teaching student. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, and we look forward to sharing the next 3 weeks with her.
Next Wednesday is our annual visit from Eli, an artist who shares his knowledge and techniques with all the pupils at Edgecumbe Primary. We participate in carefully structured lessons which introduce and build our artistic skills. This year the focus is on 3D art -look forward to seeing a sample of the children's success next week. We would really appreciate a gold coin donation as a contribution towards the amount the school pays for this excellent curriculum and professional development opportunity.
Finally, special thoughts are with Max and Te Hau Paeroa who are unable to be at school this week. Hoping you quickly feel better and are able to join your friends soon. Arohanui, Mrs Johnston and Room 11.

Term 3, Week 5
Another busy, fantastic week. Our alphabet focus was 'Ff', so along with fantastic, we had a visit from Fiona from Edgecumbe Kindergarten, and our first week of Fonterra milk. To really remember the 'Ff' sound, another delightful boy started in Room 11, named Fred. We look forward to more fun next week.
Term 3, week 4.
The excitement of our visit by Edgecumbe Kindergarten may be over, but our pleasure in new learning experiences and growth continues.
We now have 8 pupils reading with accuracy and confidence at Blue level, wonderful. In Mathematics we are exploring teen numbers and practising our skip counting skills, focussing on groups of 2, 5 and 10. Our younger pupils are becoming much more accurate at making and counting groups to 10. Jamie, Oliver and Samuel, our newest class members, are becoming very skilled at writing their names and becoming more familiar with our 'I Care' values. Well done.
This week we will sadly farewell our friend and teacher, Matua Paora. Paora has been a special part of our Room 11 Whanau, and we are going to miss his caring, positive manner and wonderful teaching and management skills. Next year he will be enjoying his own Junior class at Waiohau school -lucky children!

Term 3, Week 3
Gruffalo Day with Edgecumbe Kindergarten.
The sun shone, the children smiled, and Edgecumbe Kindergarten Staff, families and little ones spoilt us with their visit to Room 11. We value the wonderful connections we have with our local Kindergarten and it almost feels like a family visit -even though it is an extra large Whanau!
Niki, Paora and I were so proud of the way our Room 11 students shared their 'I Care' values and nurtured our visitors -exactly as we thought they would. We were sorry Max, Tahana and Te Mauri were away sick, but we will share our photos and experiences when they are well enough to return to school.
Whaea Jeanette has written us a lovely letter on our Blog page asking how we are enjoying our new big screen which is connected to our computer. We love it Whaea Jeanette, and are continuing to explore the new learning world open to us. (No more being huddled around the laptop -and lots of valuable technical growth for the teacher as well!) I am learning not to worry too much when there are small connection hitches. A good reminder that children also face challenges every day, and these are essential for growth.

Firstly, a huge bundle of get well wishes to all of our sick friends. We hope Kingston, Max, Te Mauri, Samuel, Tahana, Brock and Jamie all feel better soon and can make us all feel happy again -we miss you!
Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! We have finished our Gruffalo mural, practised our Gruffalo song and have Room 10 looking sparkling. We know 'Mr Sun' is going to shine for us so that our Kindergarten visitors can have a pleasant walk to Edgecumbe Primary. We look forward to sharing lots of photos of our exciting time with you soon.
